Zelo Public Relations Announces Agreement to Handle Branding and Public Relations for Basketball Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman and the Nancy Lieberman Foundation
McKinney, Texas (PRWEB) June 27, 2011
Zelo Public Relations™, a provider of public relations services for professional athletes and their foundations, high profile individuals, talent representation, and pro sports event media management, announced today it has formed a partnership with Nancy Lieberman to handle the public relations and branding strategies for the Nancy Lieberman, “Lady Magic” brand and the Nancy Lieberman Foundation.
Nancy Lieberman’s rise through the ranks of professional sports and her significant contributions to women’s basketball encompasses a rich and elaborate history. While Lieberman has the distinguished honor of being one of the first woman to be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, last year she was also associated with another first as she was appointed as the first female coach in the NBA, when she took the leadership role as Head Coach for the Dallas Mavericks NBA D-League Team, “Texas Legends” which she led to the playoffs in their first season as an expansion team.
In addition to her outstanding amateur and professional basketball career, Lieberman is the author to her latest business book “Playbook for Success” which shares her winning ways on the court, and brings her leadership and coaching insight into the boardroom to help teach business professionals that there are many parallels between being successful on the court and in business.
“In every way, Nancy exemplifies the characteristics of a trailblazer,” said Carla Rosenberg, SVP Pro Sports & Entertainment division of Zelo Public Relations. “Her dynamic personality inspires others to achieve the unprecedented. Nancy has made the transition from the most dominant female basketball player ever to have graced the court, to a world-renowned coach, analyst and acclaimed author. It’s for that reason that we take very seriously the responsibility of the Nancy Lieberman and Nancy Lieberman Foundation brand, and are pleased to form this partnership with such a highly esteemed leader in the professional sports industry,” Rosenberg added.
Prior to enrolling at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia on a full athletic scholarship, Lieberman set another landmark by becoming the youngest basketball player in Olympic History at 18 years old, and earned a silver medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. Lieberman exploded onto the college scene and would ultimately drive the Lady Monarchs to two consecutive National Championships, and leave a lasting impact that would be near impossible to replicate.
Nancy Lieberman is committed to enriching her community and sport, and has identified opportunities for involvement that emphasize youth and education. Guiding youngsters and helping the disadvantaged has always been a passion for Lieberman, and through this philosophy The Nancy Lieberman Foundation was born. During the summer, Nancy hosts and coach’s basketball clinics and camps for girls and boys in Dallas, Detroit and Phoenix, hoping that through positive guidance and helpful instruction, she can help facilitate the next generation of student athletes to success.
Lieberman is managed and represented by Octagon, and Zelo Public Relations will focus on branding and public relations strategies for Nancy Lieberman and her Foundation, website management, as well as non-commercial representation activities. Zelo Public Relations is also proud to offer Nancy Lieberman for corporate event appearances, community partnerships, speaking appearances, as well as assist in fundraising activities and programs related to the Nancy Lieberman Foundation.
